I still can’t believe it’s already a week ago I was in the beautiful city of Zürich, Switzerland, taking part in the best party in the world! Street Parade 2017!I’m sure there are plenty of amazing parties around the world but… not like this one. And by this, I mean: a free entrance party happening all around Zürich with love mobiles spreading high vibes and people dancing to electronic beats all day long! What about that? Yes, a parade with mobiles isn’t exclusive of carnival, think back when the Love Parade – by the neighbours in Berlin, Germany – was the most famous street electronic party in the world.

Club Nights event Friday 14 April & Aly & Fila – Open to Close Saturday 15 April 2017
It’s been already a week ago since we all had the opportunity to experience an amazing Trance Family gathering like no other before.. I still feel it tingling in my bones, an involving wave of love, still buzzing in the air I breathe.
One week later and still under the spell, after a major trance weekend event, I could barely put myself on tracks this week. The sparkles of an amazing experience still creep under my skin and along my back.
First with Luminosity Trance Gathering on Friday 17th Feb, opening the Gala Trance Weekend in full-mode on, and just before the main event of the weekend, the international indoor festival ASOT800: celebrating 800 radio shows of ‘A State Of Trance’, taking place on Saturday 18th February.
After a long year waiting, A State of Trance Festival finally came. And it still feels as it went way too fast. An event that exceeded expectations and that brought some surprises: here’s a take on this night with the facts and my personal input.
What an event! Every year ALDA events tries to raise the stakes a little higher when it comes to organizing a new edition of A State of Trance festivals in the Jaarbeurs (Utrecht, The Netherlands). It has been becoming a ritual for me, something that I have to do religiously every year. I feel lucky that with every edition I like it more, and I feel a big part of it has to do with the effort and dedication behind that both the organizers and the DJs put into this gig.
Under the theme “I live for that energy”, A State of Trance has deployed a number of renowned and up-and-coming DJs that have provided one of the best spectacles in Trance and have set high expectations for the rest of the year.
Happy New Trance Year!
With 2017 already here, and many new Trance events around the corner, it was now good timing for a new editorial, especially since the closing of 2016 was also a sort of firework time in itself.
But, first things first, on behalf of the whole staff team of Trance-Energy Radio, we want to wish all our listeners (and readers) a happy New Year!
After major indoor festival Grotesque, here in the Netherlands, we were looking forward to the Christmas holidays, a time when families gather together to celebrate and share, a time to get ready to close the year and welcome the new one.
Already two weeks have passed and we’re still under the impression… we remain with this feeling of being transported into the realms of fantasy, and we want now to take you back to experience one of the best indoor festivals in the Netherlands.
Grotesque and PT Events, organization behind, have clearly created a whole new concept of spectacle for the trance lovers around the world. We’ve been witnessing along this year how Trance has made through with a huge comeback. We aren’t just talking about the regular festivals we are all used to, in this last year more and more events have been added up every month! In that sense, it was about time for organizers to realize how much more there was to offer than just quality music or big names.
What if we created music to have something to relate to, beyond reality and beyond the burden of everyday life’s problems? Then we would be creating psytrance… and that is precisely what Blastoyz has being doing. For Blastoyz + Friends vol.1, he teamed up with Upgrade, Bizarre Contact, Azax and Berg, and the result is out of this world.
It is vox populi that Israel has a particular relationship with psy-trance, up to the point one cannot think of one without the other. It is a synergic relationship to the point that quite a few of the best psy-trance producers come from Israel, including Astrix a.k.a. as King of Psy-trance, Vini Vici and Ace Ventura.
This relationship between this small historical country of our humanity covers a side of trance mixed with psychedelics like no other place in the world. Perhaps, it tells us much more about Israel than it seems: in a land that has been ravaged by violence throughout the years, music has to live up to it.
This Summer season has been quite amazing here in the Netherlands. After EF and Trance Beatsch, we were all asking ourselves how was the summer holidays season going to go on, many parties and festivals, from the most commercial to the less famous ones. Also around Holland, other countries pretty busy with their parties agendas. It’s rave outdoors season!
So many choices, so little time!
In the Netherlands the summer holidays season starts when the school period ends. During 6 weeks we all just want to have the best time and the best weather possible to enjoy outside.
While many of my friends were literally on holidays somewhere beautiful in another country, or mostly in Ibiza, I’ve stayed home. Enough parties and festivals to stay comfortable at home, so long the sun shines, always reason to party!
What happens when two generations of DJs come together for collaboration? Magic.
While many producers are getting closer to the EDM bounty, Standerwick and Chris Schweizer have provided their bold statement that trance is alive and going strong.
In a world where EDM seems to be dominating, with a decreasing amount of creativity when it comes to producing new tracks; the moment two producers join forces to create a massive trance tune which actually sounds original, it feels like a breath of fresh air. This is the case of ‘Predator’, born as collaboration between British legend Standerwick and Argentinian ‘promise’ Chris Schweizer.
