It’s been already more than 2 weeks since ADE, and especially since the day Trance Family loved and hated at the same time because of two events happening at the same time – Luminosity (Lumi) and A State Of Trance (ASOT) ADE Specials. It was the moment when you had to pick the best one… But some decided not to choose and do both. Question is – was it a good idea? Let’s see!
Despite of the fact Luminosity and ASOT events took place the same day during the Amsterdam Dance Event week, and apart from the music lover’s heart battle on which one to attend, it’s such a blessing there have been more trance events this year during ADE. For me it was unquestioned which one to choose for that night: last year’s Luminosity ADE event was 12 hours long, having big trance scene names as headliners, crazy party in front of the stage and so many legendary Djs to meet at one place. Besides, that night a new formula of trance music event was created and I had an emotional ‘explosion’ by the end of marathon, so there was more than enough reasons to go again.
Last week Amsterdam hosted many music festivals, but the ‘purest’ one of the Trance related events was probably “Quest4Trance & Solarstone presents Pure Trance ADE 2017“, and not only because of the name, but also because of the music! In a few words: It was the most perfect event to finish ADE with, and even better intro to new Pure Trance Vol.6 compilation.
Trance Gate has always been the most emblematic trance music events in Italy. While putting on several solo DJ shows, festivals or themed events a year, it attracts trance lovers from various Italian cities as well as from different countries such as Spain, Switzerland or even Lithuania, where I come from.
Just before the event, there was a traditional dinner at restaurant near the venue with performing DJs which is always a special highlight of the night, sweet precious value, when music lovers meet their heroes, beloved trance scene DJs face to face, talk about music, events, travels, passion for music, the trance scene, productions and details of their private life.
Next week Amsterdam will host one of the biggest electronic music events in the world, including festivals, conferences, playground etc., where you can hear and meet a lot of producers and DJs. As for Trance music lovers, we are interested in events of our genre, and there will be some every day. Who is ready for 4-5 days-in-a-row-party?
Creating music is a constant experiment, and that’s what ZOYA has been doing for the last few months in order to deliver her new track ‘In my mind’. About to host a trance remix context for her new track, the Bulgarian-born artist has created a new piece of music that explores a different sound but still showcases her full talent, and we talked with her!
When it comes to female artists releasing new material, I can’t avoid but feeling thrilled. Most of the times female artists are somehow allocated in the background whereas male artists catch all the attention. So when I knew that ZOYA was producing new music I thought it was the time to give her some well deserved space.
Despite her new track ‘In my mind’ has an experimental pop-house sound, this doesn’t mean she has left trance at all. As you may had read before on our site, most artists want to explore different fields, styles and genres. And ZOYA is one of the perfect examples for this.
Ten days ago was my second time visiting Minsk, Belarus: about 8 h ride by bus one way, just to experience this small event, where you feel like… home. It became very precious and important to me in December of last year, when I attended the previous edition and I knew almost nobody from there. This time, it was even better.
Life is made of small moments like these. In this case, those small moments are the three and a half months ahead that separate us from the release of the next Above and Beyond album, which will be titled “Common Ground”.
Despite we don’t have lots of information about the next record and we don’t have an official tracklist to look forward to yet, we already know the cover art and at least three tracks that will certainly make it to the final cut.
Right after the magnificent celebration of ABGT 250 in the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington, USA, Above and Beyond has left us shaking, full of emotions and craving for more. Since the beginning of August we have known that there’s an upcoming A&B album ready to be released, but now the rumours and news have turned into a fact.
Markus Schulz still sounds as one of the most popular and talented DJs and producers that Trance scene has had. His Open-To-Close (OTC) sets have been on high demand for a couple of years now, and many people have been praising them for long. I’m not a huge fan of Markus Schulz, but I’ve heard so much about his these sets, so as a real Trance music fan I simply couldn’t miss it when I got a chance!
Music is above all, a source of joy. I personally can’t conceive my life without music, and in the last 10 years I have been listening mostly to trance. To some extent, trance music has become a part of me.
Usually music has the power to pull back memories from the depths of our minds. Memories that have to do with situations, smells, feelings, even physical sensations. To be honest, music is one of the few things that connects me with my emotions, and trance is one of the many genres that can bring me to tears like a child.
Is from this connection with my emotions that I realized that one, as a part of the trance family, builds a history along with trance. It becomes a part of us because it has some special features, and generates situations that can only be understood by people who have been in a trance festival or event, but also those who like me, from home as well, have listened to this wonderful style for years.
