45 minutes of hope – Emma Hewitt and Coyote Fly bring Trance back to Latvia

Written by Katrina Merca on . Posted in Events, Home, Live

Last Saturday was a significant day for the Trance Family not just in Latvia, but also from the neighboring countries – Lithuania, Estonia and Belarus, as one of the most popular Trance vocalists Emma Hewitt was invited to perform at one of the best clubs in Riga – Coyote Fly. Even if for them it was a usual way to attract more new people, for some it turned into a dream coming true: meeting and listening to this angelic vocalist in person, even if it means travelling more than four hours for just a few hours of Trance music.

Invite-only ASOT preparty at Armada office’s club – the whole world turns into one place, one club, one event and one love for trance music

From train to train and all transport network left stretching behind, blue lighted Armada logo in the outskirts of Amsterdam was my only one lighthouse. It’s home of Armin van Buuren’s record label, A State Of Trance radio show and the place, where every trance and Armin’s fan dreams to get into and visit. That Friday, 16th of February, Armada HQ office opened the door for special Armada Invites event, dedicated to A State Of Trance 850 festival next day. The pre-party was invite-only and just a few lucky winners of A State Of Trance contest could attend it.

Even the time, while we were standing outside this famous building, gave us special and uplifting feeling. It was a calm Friday evening in Amsterdam under clear skies and the whole A State Of Trance festival weekend was about to proudly start. I’ve seen some familiar faces around from the trance music world, all standing in a correct row to Armada office door and waiting for the event for the books to begin. Quick and polite security check, me and Trance-Energy Radio resident DJ George Andreas put special golden artists wristbands on our hands, elegant girl takes our coats and between taking pictures while we are inside this dedicated to music place, we are ready to move the second floor, where the small, cozy and intimate club is located.

Interview with Tenishia – Maltese DJ who made trance music to become a part of European Capital of Culture opening celebration

The 20th of January was such a significant day for Maltese DJ and producer Tenishia. His performance with Malta Philharmonic Orchestra has been added to official opening celebration of Valletta – European Capital of Culture 2018. TEMPO concert’s iconic tracks, starting from 70s, were performed live at the historic square in front of 5000 spectators. The new step for Tenishia, who had been raising this idea for years. A new step for trance music to be heard probably on the highest level it had reached.

Trance music sounds under Valletta night skies, in front of president’s palace, magically lighted up and covered in flying visuals, at historical square, the part of opening celebration which had attracted 100 000 visitors to golden, splendid and decorated Malta’s capital streets. The most beautiful sounds of ages. The dream that Tenishia has invited to.

Hope of Baltics for Trance music – what’s happening in Estonia?

Written by Katrina Merca on . Posted in Events, Home, Online, Spotlight

As it’s known, Trance is a very specific genre of music, which has a somewhat limited amount of followers around the world. While in countries like Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland etc. it is getting quite a lot of support, in many other countries it has not enough popularity for promoters to invite Trance producers and event organizers, for instance, the Baltic countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. However, it’s too early to lose hope, because support of this unique music is growing in Estonia, which leads to more events, but is it beneficial to organizers? How long will it continue? And what can improve the situation? Let’s think!

Trance Xplosion Reborn – moments, emotions and destination that will be missed too much

Written by Simona Kanapickaite on . Posted in Events, Home, Live

We, the first departing Lithuanians, met excited at an almost empty bus station during the late evening to travel to Poland, to an event we had been waiting for since the shining lineup was released. Gdansk and Sopot shone like the faraway trance destination we were heading to.

From the early arrival to Gdansk to the extended city weekend, for us, it was magic. Whether we were lonely tourists at the center in the dark morning, between decorated streets or at dawn walking along the river, or when we started small home party. We were waiting for our trance friends to join this weekend experience group by group – the Trance Xplosion Reborn event had attracted the biggest number of Lithuanians arriving to party this year, even some flying here from abroad and trance friends coming from Belarus.

When a promise leads to the great night – Grotesque Indoor Festival 300

Written by Katrina Merca on . Posted in Events, Home, Live, Online

After over 2 years, dreams came true: I finally got the chance to come for Grotesque Indoor Festival 300 (GIF300)! If a few years ago I was just curious about it, it wasn’t until last year that I promised myself (and also to RAM, in fact), that I will make it to the next edition – and I did it! Its super friendly atmosphere, that surprised me, and intriguing (also live) ‘decorations’, which make this event quite unique, compared to other Trance events I’ve visited. But what comes next?

Dreamstate SoCal festival – where future and dream are celebrated together

Written by Simona Kanapickaite on . Posted in Events, Home

Like the name defines itself, Dreamstate SoCal festival sounds like a dream to reach, especially for those who are not from United States. A mix of a dreamy vision for a new, different type festival, and the experience at the prime and biggest trance music event in USA, Dreamstate also implies a few tasks to be completed before getting there. It demands long flights, visas, some conversation at the departure airport before boarding, an interrogatory dialog with the U.S. border officers at the arrival airport, and finally your own transfers to San Bernardino city in California, where the festival took place for the third year.
